You Remind Me Of Her

Here's just some crossover fan art I did of an elderly Discord happily crying while holding Cinnamoroll. The long-eared puppy really does know how to make him feel better about life without Fluttershy.

This is one of those pictures I drew in a mini-sized sketchbook, specifically a Cinnamoroll-themed one (hence the rounded edges on the left side). I would also like to note that the smiley faces coming off the two characters are meant to be friendship symbols, like the ones in The Sims 2.

In many ways, Cinnamoroll and Fluttershy are two peas in a pod. Both are incredibly shy yet kind-hearted creatures that can fly. As my head-canon for Discord and Fluttershy is that they didn't have any children of their own (the animals at the sanctuary served as their surrogate children instead), Discord pretty much sees Cinnamoroll as the son that he never had.

I've been thinking of doing some short stories featuring Discord and Cinnamoroll interacting with one another. I've already got the ideas and summaries sorted out, now I just need to write out the proper stories! :D

Doll of the Month - Amelia the Strawberry Doll (June)

I've finally managed to release one of these in the middle of the month rather than at the end of it or the beginning of the next month. This time, to celebrate June and the beginning of summer, here's Amelia the Strawberry Doll!

I was SO tempted to call this doll Strawberry but it would have made the name redundant (also, I'm pretty sure that the name is actually illegal in some countries for some bizarre reason). Instead, I named her Amelia after a particular type of June strawberry grown in the UK.

This doll only needed a few colours, not counting the skin colour. The majority of her clothes are red, with green for her sleeves, neckline and boot cuffs, yellow for the dots on the strawberries and pink for her hair. I also made sure that her bunches were shaped like strawberries in order to fit in with the theme more, along with green leaf hair scrunchies. Meanwhile, the boots are pointy in order to resemble fairy boots.

Like with most of my previous drawings, I added a pattern to the background to give the impression of the doll being laid out on a clothes, with strawberries obviously being my main choice this time. The main problem though is that due to there being so many of them, especially given the fact that they're pretty big and the red is particular bold this time round, they risk overshadowing the doll itself. Next time, I'll make sure to put less objects in the background.

Despite that problem though, I really enjoyed working on this doll. Strawberries have always been my favourite fruit, so it's fitting that this is one of my favourite dolls that I've drawn so far.

Doll of the Month - Imogen the Birthday Doll (May)

My birthday is on the 21st May, so a few days after celebrating it, I bring you Imogen the Birthday Doll!

As my name is Imogen, I thought it would only be suitable to give the doll representing May the same name as me. ;)

I used a lot of pink in this picture, due to it being a cheerful colour and because it is my favourite one. Her dress is mostly pink, her shoes are pink and her hair ribbons are pink. I also made the bottom sections of her bunches pink.

I used coloured pens in this picture as well. I used green for the stems attached to the cherries on her shoes, purple for her heart bracelet and rainbow for the sprinkles on her tights.

Speaking of cherries and sprinkles, I gave this doll an edible theme too. Besides the cherries and sprinkles, I gave her a birthday cake for a hat and a small cupcake for the front of the dress. Additionally, the red on the dress is supposed to represent strawberry jam.

The birthday cake hat was inspired by the one in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, as was the cupcake on the front of the dress. I did change the colour of the cake to make it stand out against the background though.

Those weird dashes in the background? They're supposed to be fireworks celebrating Imogen's birthday. ;D

Doll of the Month - Punchinella the Clown Doll (April)

You'll either love her or be absolutely terrified of her. It's my fourth Doll of the Month, Punchinella the Clown Doll! XD

This is the second time I've ended up uploading one of my doll images after the month it was designed for went past. Once again, April was a very busy month and I was also having problems with the colours and how to draw the bottom half. All I can say is that though I'm fine with how the sitting pose looks, I'll probably just draw them standing up from now on.

Why a clown theme? Well, April Fool's Day was earlier that month and clowns are often associated with fooling around. It also gave me an excuse to go for some both innocent and creepy at the same time.

Unfortunately, the picture got creased when I put it in the scanner, hence the annoying crease mark across Punchinella's face. I doubt it will be gone when I decide to upload an outlined version of the picture online. Though I'm not using outlining pens at the moment due to my dyspraxia causes them to be too thick at times, even using the photoshop setting on my computer doesn't make the mouth line stand out. Hopefully that will change with the reupload.

Despite my mixed opinions on the lines though, I do like the design of this clown doll with the striped dress, poofy hair and giant bow. I've also gotten a head start on my May doll so I can get it uploaded before the end of the month, as well as the future dolls I have planned! ;-)

Doll of the Month - Petal the Springtime Doll (March)

It's the end of March, so here's my third Doll of the Month - Petal the Springtime Doll!

This was one of my favourite dolls to work on due to the fact that I could just go wild with the motifs and colours. Petal is a cross between a human girl and a bunny, hence the grey bunny ears (she may even had a bunny tail sticking out through her dress behind her). She's mostly blonde due to it being a sunny colour, but has pink highlights on the ends of her hair, and her hair is decorated with cherry blossom petals with a single complete flower added for good measure.

For the dress, I used a mixture of colours for each segment. With the patterns, I drew inspiration from flowers, due to them being a major aspect of spring. Examples include daffodils, cherry blossoms and tulips (as seen on her pink sleeve). I also added Easter motifs such as chicks on the blue strip of her dress and chocolate eggs on the pink strip of her pink. Additionally, her shoes have small flowers on the end of them and her tights are decorated with daffodils. Overall, I'm pretty proud of how the patterns on the outfit turned out - the only nitpick I'd made is that some of the smaller flowers are harder to see due to not using a pen to outline them, but I'm skipping pen-based work at the moment due to my dyspraxia causes it to go wonky at times (that's why I'm using photoshopping to sharpen the lines currently).

Like with my previous doll picture, I had Petal lying on what is supposed to be a patterned tablecloth, only with different coloured flowers instead of hearts. I did initially think of having it be green grass with flowers instead, but it would have merged with the tights, which would have just looked awkward.

You may be wondering why I chose to use Easter motifs for this doll when Easter takes place in April this year. It's because I already have a plan for the April doll that I cannot wait to show off...even if some people might find it a bit disturbing. ;D

Doll of the Month - Amy the Love Doll (February)

Whoops! I actually forgot to upload this Doll of the Month in February! That's what happens when it comes to the shortest month of the year - time flies while you're distracted by other things and by the time you get your act together, the month's already over. I'll confess that it was the colouring that was proving to be an issue here, as I was confident with how I drew it.

Anyway, here is the February doll at long last in March - Amy the Love Doll. She is a Valentine's Day and lovecore themed doll decked out in pink and red, laid out on what is supposed to be a white cloth with small red hearts on it.

I decided to add more details to this doll's dress than I did for my January doll. Nothing too elaborate, just a lot of hearts, plus some ribbons and frills. I gave her lips in the shape of a heart in order to further the Valentine's Day theme. Like with the last on, the only digital editing is the sharpening of the outlines. Overall, I think she turned out pretty well. The eyes may be a bit off-putting, but it matches the Burton-esque vibes that I'm going for with my doll artwork.

Hopefully, I'm able to get the colours for my March doll done much sooner than this one. The drawing is already complete, but there are only splashes of colour on it so far. Still, I'm confident with what I have so far and I'm pretty sure I'll like the finished result as much as this one and the doll before them! :D

Doll of the Month - Gerda the Winter Queen Doll (January)

I thought that for 2026, I could set myself a project for drawing some doll-like characters. Looking at my artwork from the past few years, I noticed some almost doll-like gothic vibes to my humans at times, so I thought I might as well run with it.

For January, here's Gerda the Winter Queen Doll. I named her after the heroine of Hans Christian Anderson's The Snow Queen (even if she isn't the Snow Queen herself), as Elsa was way too obvious.

She's pretty much the doll with the most basic design, given that she's my first one. Just a floaty blue dress with a spiky crown to resemble icicles. I made her clothes light blue to stand out against the background more, but you may notice some white specks on them. This is one of those times where the pencil's annoying habit of leaving white areas actually works out well.

If you're curious why Gerda has no nose and ears, it's because I'm thinking of making them similar to rag dolls without the extra features. It's also how I used to draw before adding noses and ears to my characters in my current art style. ;)

I decided not to drawing over the lines with pen this time. It hasn't always worked to my benefit in the past so it was easier to just leave it as pencils. Instead, I just used a filter on my laptop to sharpen the lines slightly.

The upcoming dolls will be a lot more detailed, but I think this one works for what it is. I've already got a few ideas as to what the next few dolls will be themed on. I just need to think about what they would look like! :D
