Dynamite's Diary - 21st June 2022

Summer has officially arrived! And when summer arrives, the heat goes up. It's enough to make anyone thirsty.

Good news for us! It just meant that it was a good day to sell some more milkshakes. As soon as school was finished for the day, I got my mates to come out and head over to a convenient place in the street to set up business.

We finally have the stall sorted out too! It's a light crimson color with a cute logo of a smoothie on it drawn by Smartie, and we call it Dynamite's Drinks. Sure, I know it makes it seem like a general selection rather than just milkshakes and smoothies, but we needed the alliteration for the marketing appeal.

Here's the menu we offer right here. Or at least the one we have at the moment:

1. Be My Valentine - Chocolate, strawberry, caramel and raspberry.
2. Berry Burster - Strawberry, raspberry and blueberry.
3. Death By Chocolate - Milk chocolate, dark chocolate and white chocolate.
4. Neopolitan - Chocolate, strawberry and vanilla.
5. Pink Paradise - Strawberry, raspberry and peach.
6. Yellow Fever - Banana, mango, passion fruit and pineapple.

There should be more new drinks on their way. But six is a good enough one so far, right?

About the smoothies, that was Smartie's idea. She felt that it would do our business more profit to have them as well as milkshakes. I was kind of skeptical at first, but in the end it seemed like a decent idea.

Once we got the stall set up for today, all we had to do was wait for any potential customers and sell them off.

It was crazy! People were just rushing forwards to grab drinks and throw bucketloads of dollars at us. In fact, some people already started buying from us the SECOND we set up. I guess they were really thirsty from all the heat that day. It didn't even matter to them that our current menu was somewhat limited.

It got to the point in which some of us had to take breaks from the stand just so we could make more milkshakes and smoothies. We couldn't just have them run out and leave more willing customers disappointed.

Steve came by too! I was trying so hard not to blush in front of him as I served him his Yellow Fever smoothie. He's an active kid, so he always tries to go for the healthy option. Lottie was snickering at me afterwards once he left, being all like "God, you look as red as those strawberries we're using!"

By the end of the day, we'd sold out completely and made a WHOPPING profit. Now I'm getting that much closer to getting my dream bedroom sorted out! If sales carry on like this, I'll probably have the much needed money by the end of the summer! It'll mean that the prize money from Xtreme's fighting tournament will just be a nice bonus if I win it. ;)

Now I just need to come up with some more drink flavors...

Dynamite's Diary - 19th June 2022

I didn't sell any milkshakes today, but that's okay because I was busy celebrating Father's Day with my dad the whole time.

It's such a relief that he's been in such a good mood today. It's the first time that he hasn't spent the day brooding over where his own dad is. Guess that talk with Grandma has still remained with him all this time. Now he can just focus on himself as a father instead.

To celebrate, we headed to the nearby shooting range together. It was super fun - we competed to see who could get the most points as usual, and we actually tied. Dad won the first match and I won the next one, and then so on. We were having such a good time that time itself just flew by and it was already past lunch by the time we left.

Our late lunch consisted of his cooking as usual - squirrel burgers with chilli sauce. The chilli wasn't so hot this time, so they actually tasted kind of nice.

And then in the afternoon, we headed out to the city together. It was AWESOME. We got to go in the arcades, where I bested him at pinball and he bested me at one of those fighting games (he's a major fighting game nut). And to cap off the day, we ate out at one of those diners that offers a good selection of burgers and Tex-Mex food. We just couldn't just chatting and laughing the whole time, and Dad, getting drunk as usual, was just belting out to the hits on the radio. Sure, we got some odd looks from everyone else, but that was just a small price to pay.

I did NOT get him any beer as a gift - he does not need any more of that. I did however give him a new tool set, as his old one's in real crap condition. He was so pleased to receive it that he gave me one of those bone-crushing hugs in response. I really need to find a way to make my way through one of those without having my ribs potentially cracked in the process - it always feels like it everytime.

So overall, a great day. No angst over where Granddad is - just good times and laughs together. As well as good food. Can't forget the food.

Next week, summer arrives! I'll be able to get back to my milkshake business with my mates, and I'm sure the hot weather will mean we get some good customers. So excited for that new room! :D

Dynamite's Diary - 14th June 2022

Summer's approaching fast and I thought that it would be a good time to discuss the milkshake business with my mates. We have several good flavors so far, but we need to have more of a variety to attract more customers.

Lottie was dead-set on having more pink milkshakes. Strawberry, raspberry, you name it. I told her that this would be a risk idea, since a more balanced variety of colors would look more appealing (and besides, I prefer to make the chocolate and caramel drinks our main draw), but she just said that I was throwing too much of a fuss about it.

"Well, if we're going to have more pink drinks, we should have more drinks of different colors to, just to make things even," Gemma said. And I definitely agreed with her on that.

And then Marlene said "What about if we did some hybrid milkshakes?", and we ALL loved that idea. Smartie wrote down all the combos we suggested and we came up with LOADS. Strawberry and chocolate, strawberry and caramel, strawberry and raspberry, caramel and chocolate and even strawberry, chocolate, raspberry and caramel. Of course, Smartie then said that just relying on those flavors wouldn't be a wise idea for business, so we threw in combo ideas involving banana, kiwi, vanilla, you name it.

We had so many ideas by the end that it would take too long to list them here for now. We're still thinking about catchy names for them, but I'm sure we'll think of something eventually.

Anyway, catchy names or no catchy names, we almost sold out of them this morning! People really liked the idea of them it seems. Which is impressive considering that our milkshake stall so far is just a cardboard box in the middle of the street. Oh well, I'm sure we'll get a new one sorted out soon.

As for today's fight in Xtreme's ring, it kind of sucked. I was up against this buff-looking dude named Chris and he seemed like he would be a good opponent. But the only attack he did was this blast of energy that shot the wrong way and I only needed to kick him in the groin in order to win. Barely anyone was clapping because it was so mediocre. Even Xtreme wasn't impressed.

Oh well, at least we sold a crap ton of milkshakes during that time. Just like we did earlier in the morning. And it seems that the people in the crowd enjoyed them (especially moreso than the "fight" they had to watch). In fact, so far I have a tenth of the money I need to get my new room sorted out. If it carries on like this for the next few days, it's all gonna be a breeze! :D
