Oh Eris, goddess of chaos and discord, you tried so hard. Pity that you went after G5 Discord…after he’d recovered from his depression over Fluttershy’s passing. Word of advice, maybe wait until Wiz and Boomstick have set things up for you instead of trying to set it up yourself.
My first piece of fan art that doesn’t feature the Death Battle! hosts, despite having the name in the title! Instead, this is one of the first few times I've drawn Discord from My Little Pony, and the first time I've uploaded a drawing of him online.
For obvious reasons, I have given Discord his old man form from the first G5 comic storyline. Specifically, I have given him his appearance from the end of the storyline where he has the low bohemian-eque ponytail and is a lot more cleaned-up. I also gave him Fluttershy’s flower scrunchie that she wore in her later years, as I feel that now he would want to show his respects to her any way he can, and this is one of the ways in which he can do that.
I will also point out that I kind of cocked up with the second panel by doing the colouring and outlining before drawing Discord's goatee. In case you're wondering what the weird white thing coming off of Eris' head is, it's the goatee resting on the back on her head after I scribbled it in last minute.
If you’re wondering why I gave Eris a punk rocker look when she doesn’t look that way in the original myths, it’s because I have a story idea focused on her and the other gods in the modern world. Some of them keep their original appearances, while some of them choose to update their looks in order to fit in which their current surroundings more. This is pretty much how Eris would choose to look when going about her business, even if the punk vibe could be said to be more of a 70s or 80s thing.
