Dynamite's Diary - 18th July 2022

Today's fight was ROUGH. I guess all that training did pay off after all, and even then I thought I'd never see the light of day again.

I said before that I would be up against a former champion for today's fight, and I thought that I'd prepared myself well enough for it. I'd even brought more explosives on my person into the arena so I could be extra ready. All I needed to do was wait until she came onto the stage and Xtreme signalled for us to start.

They call this girl Terrible Tina. She didn't look the part - she actually looked pretty cute with those blonde ringlets with pink streaks in them and the rainbow sundress and flip-flops. She even smiled at me and wished me good luck before the fight started.

And then I realised why she had that stage name in the first place.

This girl wasn't a former champion for nothing. The moment I tried to land a hit on her, she just smirked and leapt out of the way. And she just kept doing it every time. Even when I threw one of my dynamite sticks at her, she simply kicked it back over to where I was. Nearly blew me out of the arena.

And that was just the first part. When she chose to fight back, she fought back hard. She was landing some swift karate blows onto my ribcage (I'm surprised she didn't shatter it) and my shoulders. I hate to say this but I actually thought I was going to puke as a result.

AND THEN she did some hand gestures and before I knew it, I was being lifted up into the air and then slammed into the ground. Great! Not only was this girl super hard to hit and someone with strong punches, but she also had freaking telekinesis! She slam me into the stage, she slammed me into the sides of the arena, she even sent me flying out of the arena at one point.

I'm pretty sure that my durability was the only reason I was still able to move despite all that. I never knew I had that kind of strength, and I'm actually glad I do.

The fight took so long that my mates were able to sell out ALL of our drinks today, even the spares. I wasn't able to see their reactions due to being thrown about the arena so much, but I may have heard Marlene yelp a bit at one point.

Despite all of the craziness though, I was able to notice one thing. It seemed that every time Tina pulled off that move, she seemed to be getting more exhausted. Eventually she was just standing there panting, not able to do much.

That's when I saw my chance. I got out one of my bombs and threw it. And you better believe it sent her flying into the audience. I waited to see if she crawled out like I did earlier on, but she was apparently still concussed.

"I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! THE CHAMPION HAS BEEN DETHRONED!" Xtreme was yelling the whole time. She sounded both shocked and excited at the same time. "Dynamite makes it through to the next round!"

Gemma was screaming with joy in the audience, as was Lottie. As for Tina, once she eventually came around, she came out and shook my hands whilst congratulating me on a fight well done.

I accepted her responses. And then passed out right away.

It's a good thing that Xtreme has a first-aid room in her arena. The medics were able to bandage me up and give me some painkillers before letting me out. Dad was horrified when he saw me bandaged up when I got home.

"The HELL happened with you?!?!" he was all like, white in the face.

"I told you before, I'm in Xtreme's fighting arena. I just had a rough fight today."

That seemed to calm him down. "Phew! I thought it was something worst!"

And then he gave me chilli con carne with added squirrel for tonight's meal as his own prize for me. Okay, maybe it's not the best prize, but the thought still counts.

Good news though! We're taking a break for summer vacation before continuing with the battles. Xtreme's got a vacation in Barbados that she wants to make the most of, though maybe the beating I got this time round may have played a role in the hiatus too. Well, at least it gives me enough time to heal up properly before going back into the fighting ring. Who knew that making money like this would be this hard?!

Dynamite's Diary - 11th July 2022

School's out! Now I get to enjoy the sun and spend even more quality times with my buds without worrying about schoolwork and all that garbage. Well okay, we've been given one of those "summer projects" to do, but that can wait.

Friday afternoon was crazy. We just rushed wildly out of the gates as soon as the bell ran. We were just that ready for summer vacation. Gemma in particular was running about and cheering and whooping - I'm pretty sure I saw her almost crush Mr. Rushden in the frenzy as she reached the gates.

Anyway, the fight that I was supposed to be taking part in this week has been delayed to next week, so I've had some time to practice more for it for the past few days. I've been carrying some heavy items around to improve my strength and running laps round the area to improve my speed. And of course I'm brushing up on my martial arts skills.

I needed a bit more though. So I asked Dad if he could give me pointers today. And what does he do? He puts me through one of the most hellish training sessions I've ever had. First I had to carry sixteen metal slabs whilst running round the nearby lake. Then I had to do another sparring session with him, which of course he bested me in again. Then I had to climb up one of the tallest trees nearby and then leap down with a parachute. And THEN I had to fight some robotic suit of armor that Dad had sneaked out of Wiz's lab apparently. Sure, I did better in that particular fight, but it almost took my arm off in the process.

And do you know what Dad said afterwards? "Great! Now let's do it again this afternoon!" The nerve he had! At least he gave me a good hamburger lunch afterwards.

And of course my buds and I have found the time to sell our milkshakes and smoothies. We're making a really good profit on them so far. In fact, we only had one unsold milkshake by the end of today. I had that one myself. I really needed it after the training session I had today. Top secret note - I actually snook out of the afternoon training session so I could get on with the sales.

Hopefully Dad's training does pay off for next week. I'd really hate it if I'd had to go through all that nonsense for nothing. Wonder it the opponent I'm up against went through the same thing as well.

Dynamite's Diary - 4th July 2022

Well, slight problem with the money thing. I'll probably be taking longer to reach my money goal as everyone else working on the drinks stall wanted the cash too. At least I suspected that it would be an issue beforehand.

I don't know why they all had to make a big fuss over it. I'd already told them beforehand what the purpose of the stall was and that it was to fund my room. I even reminded them today, and just to make sure, pointed out that I was the leader of the stall and therefore should get the majority of the share.

But Lottie was all like "But I'm the one promoting it all on social media!". To be fair, she has a MAJOR social media profile. She's got her own vlog, and she knows how to use stuff like Instagram and TikTok. I can barely use the latter myself. But promotion's only a small aspect when it comes to a business like this. You can't just promote it well - you have to run it well too.

And then Smartie went on about how she was the one who designed the stall's look and had apparently made twice as many drinks as I had on the first day of summer. Even though I had to spend time on the stall to make sure that the drinks were being sold correctly. Seriously... >:(

Ultimately, we reached an agreement. I receive two sixths of the profit whilst everyone else receives one sixth. Lottie was still indignant about it but the others seemed fine. Personally, I feel like I could have received a lot more, but sometimes you can't win them all.

And today, I had another tournament match to take part in. This one went MUCH better than the last one. It was a dude in a pig mask and with noticeable pecs, and he actually had me on the ropes a few times. Nearly strangled me at one point too whilst clubbing me with a mace. I still managed to beat him with my dynamite stick though. Honestly, it's much better to fight someone who can actually fight you than someone who just whiffs it within the first few seconds - it feels more like a fight that way.

The people in the arena liked our new drinks as well. We've got some new ones on offer, such as our Green Dream smoothies. The Fruity variant has kiwi, lime and green apple in it whilst the veggie equivalent has broccoli and kale. Apparently some people really like their veggies in what's supposed to be a sweet drink.

I've been told by Xtreme that I might need to do some more practicing for my match later this month. Apparently, a former champion has returned and I'm fighting them next. Hopefully, this turns out to be a worthwhile match. And most importantly, I hopefully make it to the next round after that.
