This week was mainly spent focusing on training for my next fight in Xtreme's arena, but I was able to get some other things done as well. Besides, too much time training can put a mental strain on you as well as a physical one.
Our Halloween trick-and-treating session earlier this week went pretty well. Well, except for the part where Lottie missed the email I sent out about us all dressing as vampire bats and going in some disgusting wrestler pimp-type outfit instead. Seriously, it consisted of some garish pink cape, lurid pinstripe trousers with a giant yellow bow on the front and a viking helmet for some reason. Oh, and to seal the deal, she also tied her hair up in two plaits with giant ribbons that didn't suit her at all.
"I said to dress up as a bat!" I yelled at her as soon as I saw it. "Not some weird viking wrestler freakshow event!"
"Well, Smartie showed me this outfit in a comic book she was reading and I vomited at the sight of it, so it makes for ideal Halloween garb in my opinion."
Smartie was actually pretty chill about it. "Keep in mind that it was meant to be crap."
"Oh yeah, definitely. I got that part."
Gemma seemed to find the whole thing amusing. Marlene was just concerned, as she should be. That said, Smartie says that she'll let me borrow the comic at some point and she says that it's actually really good, so I'm happy to check it out.
We got a WHOLE stack of candy in the process! And yeah, Lottie's outfit really did spook out people, so she has a point there. I don't really care for the coconut flavored bars, so maybe I could sell them off to make progress on earning money for my room.
Speaking of money, we've come up with a new business plan. As our drinks sales are not doing as well as they did in the summer, we had a discussion today on what to do. We've now decided to sell warm drinks such as hot chocolate and coffee and make them our main marketed drinks, since the weather's getting colder and cold milkshakes and smoothies aren't as suited for the upcoming winter weather.
OF COURSE pumpkin spice latte has to be one of the drinks sold. That'll definitely help attract more customers, since it's always been a big thing. We're also thinking of different hot chocolate flavors such as gingerbread and orange. Hopefully people like them. I know I'd definitely drink them myself. ^_^
So that's our plan for the rest of November and December. If this works, we'll be back to the high sales numbers we had several months and then I'll be closer to sorting my new room out by the end of the year! How neat is that? :D
