One More Time...Let's Do This

Rooster Teeth is closing down in May, and as Death Battle is part of the Rooster Teeth family, that leaves its future uncertain. For the final Death Battle Cast episode (or at least the final one with Rooster Teeth), the community battle will be between the hosts Wiz and Boomstick themselves, and people have been asked to send in fan art on social media in response. Obviously, being the major Death Battle fan that I am, I could not turn down this opportunity.

Rather than draw the two characters fighting though, I decided to draw them on friendly terms. Though Wiz and Boomstick are prone to bickering and fighting each other, there is an underlying sense that they genuinely do care for each other, just in their own twisted way. Here, they are coming to a truce in light of Rooster Teeth's closure and Death Battle's uncertain future. It's a bittersweet time for time, hence Boomstick's tears and both of their smiles.

As usual, I used colouring pencils and fineliner to colour in this picture. The text was added on when I scanned it into the computer.

I made a mistake with Boomstick's jacket at one point - I accidentally used the fineliner at the bottom of part of it rather than the black colouring pencil like I was supposed to. However, I didn't even care at that point due to being happy with the rest of the picture, so I left it as it was.

I really hope that Death Battle continues beyond Rooster Teeth as there is still so much I want to see from it, but even if it doesn't, I will still have fond memories of it. Moments such as the insane hilarity of "He-Man vs. Lion-O", the amazing twist ending of "Bill Cipher vs. Discord", the shocking yet satisfying brutality in "Omni-Man vs. Homelander" and the sweet and tender moment between Boomstick and his mother in "Macho Man vs. Kool-Aid Man" still stand out to me, as do other moments that I do not have time to list here. No matter what happens in the future, I will still be inspired to do more Death Battle fan works and show my love for the series. :)
